SFCU currently have three types of savings accounts available depending on your needs:
Adult Standard Savings
Credit Union savings are known as shares. You can save as much or as little as you want to, as often as you want to (£1 minimum must always be in your account) up to a maximum of £10,000.
It's not the amount that's important, it's getting into the habit of saving regularly.
After 8 weeks' regular savings, you are entitled to apply to borrow against the shares you have saved. Your savings are insured FREE of charge by your Credit Union.*
*Insurance is subject to age.
Adult Christmas Savings
Christmas savings are held in an additional account to your regular savings and funds deposited into Christmas Savers accounts are not used as collateral for loans, unless transferred into your regular savings account.
Withdrawals can be made from Christmas Savers accounts between 1st October and 31st January.
Under 16 Savings
Junior savings accounts are available for young people aged from 0 to 15 years of age.

We encourage children to save regularly with 'Money Munchers', our children's saving scheme. We now have collection points in Sea Mills Junior School, Sea Mills Infant school, Our Lady of the Rosary School, St Bernard's School, Avonmouth RC School and Weston Park Primary School.
Young savers are allowed to save up to a maximum of £5000 but are not entitled to apply for loans. If you think your school might be interested in joining the scheme, please contact us.
